TOMATO SKIN THICKNESS
This is exactly what I needed to measure the skin strength of processing tomatoes. Using the 1 mm tip, the reading in grams can be used to rate different selections in a tomato breeding program. Just press the tip against the tomato until it punctures the skin and record the reading.It is better than what I visualized making for myself. Small, portable, fast and accurate readings in the field. Should be a tremendous help in selecting for the genetics of skin strength which is correlated with resistance to anthracnose fruit rot in tomatoes.
